Undergrad Advising Options

Advisors in the Department of Statistics offer the following advising services.

• 20-30 minute in-person and virtual appointments are available for in-depth questions.

• During Fall, drop-in Express Advising is typically available via Zoom on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays 1-4pm. There are also extended hours for Express Advising at the beginning of the quarter. Express Advising should be used for quick questions.

New Calculus Pathway Beginning Winter 2027

Beginning Winter 2027, students who successfully complete MAT 12 with a grade of C- or better in Fall 2026 or later will be eligible to enroll in first-quarter calculus courses (MAT 17A, MAT 19A, or MAT 21A) without needing to retake the Math Readiness Assessment. Note that a C- received in MAT 12 prior to Fall 2026 will not qualify for this pathway.

Statistics (BS) Majors-Declare Your Track

Students pursuing a BS in Statistics can now declare their major track using the Change of Program Petition in OASIS.  This will allow your major track to be listed on your record and official transcripts.  Don't know which track to choose yet? No problem! You will only need to declare your track before you graduate. 

You can access the Change of Program Petition in the OASIS "Forms & Petitions" tab.  Once you open the petition, you can select the "Change Major(s), Degree Type (A.B., B.S.), or Academic Options" option and click "Next". You will then be brought to another page where you can update the "Academic Options" section with your intended track. Only ONE track can be selected.  You can move through the additional sections of the form and you are not required to make any comments or upload any documents.  Click "Submit".

Curious about how Generative AI is transforming the future of business and technology? Join Tata Consulting Services for a virtual Micro-Internship event. Following the presentation and Q&A, students will begin a self-paced Micro-Internship that can be completed in approximately 3 to 4 hours. This experience offers a valuable opportunity to build practical skills, gain insight into industry work, and showcase your initiative to future employers. Students who complete the Micro-Internship and submit proof of completion will receive a Certificate of Completion.

Accounting AND Business Minor Info Session

The Graduate School of Management Business Advising Office hosts virtual information sessions monthly for Aggie Undergrads! This virtual (zoom) information session is for Undergraduate students interested in pursuing Technology Management and/or Accounting minor.
