Faculty Genealogy Project

What do Galileo Galilei, Sir Isaac Newton, Simeon-Denis Poisson, and August Mobius all have in common?

They are all "related" to faculty in the Department of Statistics! This map shows how mathematicians and scientists going as far back as the 15th century are connected to faculty in the Department of Statistics through their advisors and mentors.
