TITLE: “What is Topological Data Analysis?”
ABSTRACT: Applied topology is a relatively new field which combines ideas from topology, combinatorics, and statistics to analyze real data. In this casual talk, we will introduce how topological concepts might be useful in data analysis, discuss some of the pitfalls, and see a few examples.
This seminar series is organized by PhD Students Irene Kim and Ozan Sonmez.
