Cluster Elective Policies & Reminders
- All courses should follow a coherent sequence in ONE cluster. The pre-approved courses are divided into clusters that may contain courses with different subject codes (e.g. ARE and ECN). You may take a combination of courses with different subject codes as long as they are within the same cluster.
- A minimum of three courses in the cluster must be QUANTITATIVE in nature. The courses in each cluster are categorized as "quantitative" and "non-quantitative." The courses may all be quantitative if you choose, but at least three must be quantitative.
- Prerequisites for the courses below vary. Be sure to check the General Catalog for an up to date list of prerequisites.
- Be aware of registration restrictions. Many courses on this list have Pass One registration restrictions so please plan carefully. Enrollment is not guaranteed and there is no way to circumvent registration restrictions. The Statistics Department has no authority over enrollment in non-STA courses.
- Any deviation from the clusters and any addition of courses must be pre-approved by the Undergraduate Vice Chair. This is not a complete list. There are many other subject areas and courses that may be approved as well. Please submit the major modification request form for any elective requests. Please include the list of which courses you would like to use and their descriptions.
